Treasures of the Sea: Cisternhead, Figurehead, & Lightcaller
Cisternhead
A pockmarked head of towering stone. Its eyes are closed.
Within, a small chamber holds a naked body covered in pustules, contorted in an unnatural position, preserved in 4d6 hlbs of a pale liquid. 1-in-4 chance the figure awakens, speaking only the lost tongue of Olbassa. They will find the sick and heal them.
If 1 hlb of the liquid is consumed, it cures most ailments: 5-in-6 chance it cures yours. Pustules appear on your skin d6 days later. The pus has the same effect.
Figurehead
The wood is dyed blood-brown.
Such carvings are said to steer a ship home. If placed on the prow of your ship, it reduces the chance of getting lost by 1.
Living virgins were once lashed to the fronts of ships, in desperate times. An effigy washed in virgin fishblood works nearly as well.
Lightcaller
A whip of dark, smooth flesh hangs limp from a bone handle. Pale lightning crackles across its surface. The flesh still twitches.
When the whip is cracked, lightning falls on the place the tail’s tip points to. Make a Shooting Check with -4 to hit, unless the wielder is skilled with whips. The lightning strikes with a +7 Harm bonus.
It is said kings from a foreign sea once sailed upon the backs of ray-fleets, driving them forward with whips such as these. All rays are descended from those steeds. Though their masters are long-dead, they still have not found their way home.
